What Makes Diet Pills Dangerous
Diet pills are huge on the retail market and just about anyone can easily find these products for purchase at the local drug store, grocery store, online and even on televised infomercials. With grandiose claims of amazing results with little or no effort and in minimal time, it’s easy to fall into the trap of diet pill marketing schemes. These sales generate billions of dollars in this highly competitive industry and new products are constantly being developed and marketed to the masses.
As a non surgical alternative to weight loss, these products have been known to sometimes have very dangerous side effects and risks associated with their use. There are many factors involved with the use of diet pills that make them potentially dangerous, but there are a few key things that make diet pills dangerous which consumers should be wary of before purchasing any product.
1) Caffeine or other natural stimulants as a main ingredient
Stimulants encourage an increase in the heart rate. While this is basically what needs to happen in order for the weight loss process to begin, the use of stimulants does not encourage this to happen in a healthy way. Diet pills often contain excessive amounts of caffeine and/or other stimulants as their main ingredients. This is very stressful on the heart, and anyone who suffers from cardiac complications should not take anything with stimulants in it. Some stimulants also suppress the appetite while the increase in heart rate encourages calorie consumption, which is dangerous for someone who may not be conscious of what they are actually eating or their body’s physical requirements.
